Ayamase Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 pack of Simi and Temi Ayamase Pepper Mix
  • 3 cups of water
  • 1.5 cups of palm oil (bleached palm oil preferred)
  • 2 tbs of Iru (locust Beans)
  • Meat, fish, and egg as desired (mushroom as substitute for Vegan option)
  • Salt and seasoning to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak the pepper mix in water for 2 hours or more
  2. Heat the oil in a pot on low-medium heat
  3. Add iru and onion to the oil, and allow to fry for about a minute, or until it begins to fragrance or the onion is transparent
  4. Gradually transfer the soaked Ayamase mix (with water) into the pot, and allow to cook for 10-15 minutes on low-medium heat, stirring occasionally
  5. Add meat/fish/egg, salt and seasoning to taste. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes
  6. Serve and enjoy with rice

Notes

Allow to cool and serve with your choice of grains.
